PLETO STUDIO

A Ukrainian collectible design practice founded by Alina and Oleksandr Maslenko. Their work moves between sculptural lighting and objects, drawing on vernacular craft, natural materials and the visual memory of Ukrainian domestic culture.
The studio embraces irregularity as part of the object’s character. Many of the lighting pieces are formed in Pleto Biocomposite, a material developed by the studio from clay, hemp fibres, cellulose, wood shavings, mineral elements and natural binders. Its layered composition creates surfaces that feel dense, tactile and visibly handmade, allowing light to reveal subtle shifts in texture, thickness and tone across each piece.

This material language gives the lamps a distinct presence: sculptural when unlit, softer and more atmospheric once illuminated.
