María Fernanda, the Hidden Table / Gallery/Showroom based in Switzerland

Meet the Curator

María Fernanda

María Fernanda is an Argentinian architect based in Basel, Switzerland, with over 18 years of experience leading high-end architectural and interior design projects across Europe, the United States, and Latin America.

Trained in architecture and shaped by years of international collaboration, her work is guided by a deep sensitivity to composition, materiality, and the emotional resonance of space. She approaches each environment with a measured, discerning eye, balancing structure and intuition, precision and poetry. Together with her team of architects and designers, she has realized refined residential projects where atmosphere, sensory experience, and quiet restraint take precedence.

Throughout her career, María Fernanda has specialized in fully or partially outsourced architectural services for local and international studios, working closely with private clients and real estate developers.

Her practice is defined by a collaborative and thoughtful process, grounded in trust, discretion, and long-term relationships that extend well beyond the completion of a project.

Today, her work is evolving beyond traditional architectural boundaries. As the Founder and Curator of The Hidden Table, María Fernanda brings her architectural rigor into a more intimate cultural realm, curating objects, artists, and experiences that invite connection, conversation, and presence.

Acting as both host and tastemaker, she creates settings where people gather around ideas as much as they do around form.

Each project she touches reflects her belief that true beauty lies not only in form, but in meaning, memory, and the stories we choose to place around us.

Co-Founder

Pierre Kaufmann

Pierre serves as Co-Founder and Strategic & Financial Director of The Hidden Table, working in close partnership with María Fernanda to ensure the gallery’s long-term sustainability, growth and structural strength while supporting its continued evolution.

While María Fernanda leads the vision and curatorial direction, Pierre anchors the business infrastructure that allows the vision to expand.

Pierre Kaufmann’s professional path unfolds at the intersection of architecture, material culture, and

spatial dialogue.

Currently serving as Director of Operations, Surface Design at Cosentino in Switzerland, his work is guided by an ambition to shape spaces as lived, sensory experiences.

With a background spanning decorative design, architecture, and interior fit-out, he brings a considered understanding of both the creative and operational dimensions of the built environment. His approach is defined by a sensitivity to material, proportion, and the role of objects within space.

Born in Basel and shaped in part by his early years in France, Pierre developed an early sensitivity to cultural nuance and the ways in which people inhabit space. His travels have further informed this perspective, reinforcing a belief that materials, traditions, and forms of expression carry the identity of place.

This sensibility extends into his personal pursuits, including the creation of a photography studio conceived as an environment for exploration and exchange. It reflects a broader philosophy—one that views space as a catalyst for creativity, connection, and lasting impression.
